CMTS • Policy Advisor to the Executive Director
Knauss Sea Grant Fellow
Caleb Taylor is the 2021 Knauss Sea Grant Fellow with the CMTS. His areas of responsibility include Arctic Marine Transportation, Maritime Innovative Science and Technology, and Ocean Policy. Caleb graduated in 2020 from Louisiana State University with a master’s degree in renewable natural resources with an emphasis on estuarine ecology. Working within the U.S.G.S. fish and wildlife co-op unit at LSU, he researched management driven questions to sustain blue crab stocks alongside river diversion projects engineered to restore Louisiana’s disappearing coastline.
Caleb has also gained firsthand experience in the marine transportation system working as a deckhand aboard a landing craft, and briefly as a longshoreman and commercial fisherman in the Gulf of Alaska before beginning the fellowship. His interests include exploring methods to conserve marine resources while fostering more resilient coastal habitats and communities.
